From the ghastly operating table at Spectre’s Plastic Surgery…

“After learning of a Cobra training base somewhere in the Texas Hill Country, a Joe team was dispatched to investigate. Hawk felt it would be prudent to have a native Texan leading the mission. The team was made up of; Wild Bill, team leader; Rock and Roll; BeachHead; Mouse; Lady Jaye; and CIA operative Charlie Wax. Although the team’s primary roll is recon, they are cleared to go hot if need be.”

CCE Canadian Spotlight: M.O.B.A.T – Char D’assaut (by Mike Hayden)

From the desk of Mike Hayden:

“As a new Admin to this great group (Crimson Cobra Elite) and one of the few Canadians in the group, I have decided to do a spotlight on a Canadian G.I. Joe exclusive vehicle.

This vehicle is an asset to Cobra Commander’s vast organization and one of my personal favorites, ladies and gentleman, I present to you the Canadian exclusive Consumers Distributing Cobra M.O.B.A.T also known as the Char D’assaut (French).

The Cobra Mobat was released by Hasbro Canada in 1983 and exclusively sold at Consumers Distributing Catalog store. The stores had nothing in them but a few counters with catalogs, pencils and order forms. You looked through the catalog, found an item, filled out the form, took it to a customer service rep and he would return with your product. That easy.

In the early 80’s, Walmart ,Toys R Us and KB Toys had no meaning to Canadians, let alone Canadian children. Zellers, Sears, Woolworths and Consumers Distributing were the only stores we knew that carried our favorite toy: G.I. Joe…

Though it may not have the most original name…”

Spotlight Splash (primary)

From the desk of ska_lives:

ThreeA is the toy company that puts out the figures related to Ashley Wood’s World War Robot (WWR) series. These are premium priced action figures and often times sell out LUDICROUSLY FAST! I am lucky to have found these guys for pre-order on BBTS this time last year. They arrived today after having their initial release date of 4th qtr 2013 pushed out to 1st 2014. Quite the wait indeed.

The series is based on the comics and art books of the same name and are themselves tied into (albeit seemingly very loosely) his Popbot comic series. The story itself is great and, well, too much to get into here.

However here is a link to the wiki entry:

http://www.threeawiki.com/World_War_Robot

There are a variety of Robot styles and these figures represent some of the more common designs. Now, before I get too carried away, let us segway into the actual review so that I do not ramble.”
